Mathematics is the professional study of numbers, shapes, and space using reason and usually a special system of symbols and rules for organising them. Mathematics is both logical and creative whilst also being challenging, rewarding and fun.

Core requisites

Mathematics takes place in every aspect of life with more in depth knowledge required for certain tasks and careers. Skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, analytical thinking, time management, communication and independence are all requirement for an individual to develop whilst studying Mathematics.

Course summary

Mathematics will provide the theoretical framework which is required for statistics, data analysis, physical science and computer science. A strong analytical mind is needed and a passion for mathematics in order to excel in this course.

As well as allowing individuals to build their problem-solving abilities using creativity and logic whilst also allowing them to develop skills using mathematical and statistical software such as SPSS, Maple, etc.
