Prerequisites
To study a Physiology degree an individual will usually have to have studied A level Biology and Chemistry along with one other A level subject. The entry requirements are subject to change, but currently individuals are asked for AAB. Relevant work experience of at least 2 weeks is required.
Core requisites
Taking three years to complete with placements and work experience a key part in being able to complete this degree and provide the pathway to become professionally qualified in Physiology. There is also the option to be put on the 4 year course with a 1 year placement between years 3 and 4. This can be either in industry or taken as a year abroad.
Course summary
Physiology investigates the function and interaction of molecules, cells, tissues, organs and systems, and how these all of these different parts make up the whole body. This course will give a solid foundation acting as a pathway for many different careers such as:
- Medicine
- Dentistry
- Research and development
- Further study.
Note
Physiology is the science of how the body works and it is one of the fundamental parts of biology and modern medicine.
